Grant Opportunities

  • Alfred P. Sloan Foundation - Grant requests can be made at any time for support of activities related to Foundation program areas and interests.
  • Edward E. Ford Foundation - The resources of the Foundation are devoted to the support of independent secondary (grades 9-12) education. Independent secondary schools must hold membership in the National Association of Independent Schools to be eligible for consideration. Grants are up to $50,000.
  • Florida Association of Science Teachers Mini-Grants - A minimum of two mini-grants of $500.00 each will be awarded at the FAST convention. Do you have an idea that could be a source of funding? Do you want to fund a creative teaching idea? Apply for the classroom mini-grant from FAST.
  • Maryland Association of Science Teachers Mini-Grants - Each award will be for a sum of money up to $500 to enable a teacher to purchase supplies and equipment for new and innovative projects to supplement his or her classroom instructional program.
  • North Carolina Innovative Curriculum Support Grant - Deadline is May 1. NCSTA members may apply for funds for supplies, materials, equipment, printing, travel and other expenses related to an innovative curriculum project involving students in a unique way. Two grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded each year.
  • School Grants (Index Site) - A great website with a comprehensive list of grants available.
  • South Carolina Teacher Grants - Up to $1,000 to support classroom innovations and projects.
  • Sutton Trust (United Kingdom) - The main objective of the Sutton Trust is to support innovative projects that provide educational opportunities for young people from non-privileged backgrounds. The Sutton Trust will fund projects across the UK, in any area where there is need, including rural and inner city areas.
  • Toyota TAPESTRY - To recognize outstanding science teachers and give students hands-on exposure to science at an early age.
  • Verizon Foundation - Organizations seeking grants must actively support programs that address the Verizon Foundation's focus areas of education, literacy, domestic violence prevention or technology for healthcare and healthcare accessibility. Proposals will be considered from elementary and secondary schools* (public and private) that are registered with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) as well as eligible tax-exempt organizations in certain 501(c)(3) subsections as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
